Dear Prospective Student,
Though our courses are often selected for you to best fit your academic standing and help you reach your prospective careers, this catelogue is meant for your intrigue. Classes here may be arranged in slightly different ways. Your days will be in 8 periods, breaks and lunches included. And also due to the special nature of our proud school, we will arrange schedules differently by request if asked. We will not, however, accept any changing of classes for petty reasons such as being with a friend. A letter explaining why you are switching classes is required. Thank you, and let us hope that this year shall be a wonderful year,and I wouldn't have to see you in my office later on.

English [Levels 1-6]
The English Class in which all students will:
~ Basic literary analysis
~ Learn symbolism
~ Practice basic writing and narrative skills
~ Research stuff
This is the regular levelled class. Students who come from countries that do not have English as the first and native language, such as in Japan, will be automatically assigned to this class unless by the student himself/herself coming to the Headmaster's office or the Student Council's office about it. Your scores from the test we gave you before entering this class will be used to determine howsmart ready you are for another course.

Accelerated English [Levels 1-6]
Harder honours version of English class. You'll learn how to persuade people through writing things. Be ready to be challenged to read, discuss, and come to an in-depth understanding of numerous full length literary works and a large number of additional essays, stories and poems from the American and British literary canon. You must write an essay and get background checked by the Covert Squad to enter this class.

British Novels [For students 4th year and up]
Read a bunch of Victorian Era stuff. You'll also be forced to read some Shakespeare, with the added fun project of acting it out. Fun, isn't it~?

Science Department
Biology
The study of all life. Learn the wonders of the nature of science. We emphasize biochemistry, the inner workings of cells, genetics, biotechnology, and ecology. You'll participate in several lab experiments and learn important facts.

Be 1st or 2nd year
Chemistry
A physical science lab that emphasizes chemical changes, applied mathematics, and composition of matter. Problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills are skills you are going to acquire when you take this course. You will experience participating in several laboratory experiments. Learning methods include lecture, discussion, notes, group problem-solving sessions, and full lab reports.

Be 3rd or 4th year
Physics
Learn about motion, forces, vectors, and other confusing stuff. Explore mechanics, waves, and acoustics. Considerable emphasis is placed on quantitative investigations and relationships.
Prerequisite:
Be a 5th or 6th year
Health Science
Learn your health skills that are important to your survival. That includes STD's prevention and protection methods. And that involves using fruit as models. A special project of this course is similar to the Home Economics special project. Be prepared to use an empathy belly and a flour sack.
Prerequisite:
Can be taken by any year, required for at least one year!
Botany
Learn about the world of plants! Topics also include plant structure, function, growth processes, reproduction, ecology and genetics. Students will have ample opportunities to develop hands-on lab skills in the school garden. You'll be breeding your own flowers!
Prerequisites:
4th years and up
You probably should have taken Biology and Chemistry in the past.
Social Studies
Global Studies
This class focuses on themes of geography and the major regions of the world. It examines the main turning points in the shaping of the modern world. We will examine issues in Latin America, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, through the use of case studies, and we shall try to learn how to come up with a solution for these issues.
Prerequisites:
Be a 1st or 2nd year
World History { Advanced }
Explore the many themes of modern world history, emphasizing the period between 1400 to modern times. Everything is studied chronologically. Cross-Discussions with Religious Studies and English courses will be made throughout the year. Since this class is the Honours class, and placement is made through department interview, your achievements, and interest, we expect that you act on a high accord in this class.

Be a smart 2nd or 3rd year

Explore the many themes of modern world history, emphasizing the period between 1400 to modern times. Everything is studied chronologically. Learn about how people see your culture and about other cultures.

Government
Because it's important and because they take money from you. Read some boring government documents, participate in mock trials, and write boring papers. You'll be talking about governments from around the world.

Be a 5th or 6th year
Economics
Learn the science of economics. You will definitely need to learn your maths well. After all, you will do a lot of currency conversion in this class. This is a good class for learning business.

Mathematics Department
Algebra I
Learn the language of mathwhatever that is! This course covers the fundamentals of algebra such as binary operations with real numbers and variables, factoring, radicals and exponents.

Algebra I { Advanced }
Oh, you actually understand this stuff good? This course will be more fun for you, then. You get to have fun with graphing calculators. It extensively utilizes graphing calculators to explore on a deeper level fundamental algebraic concepts.

We eat shapes in this class. Learn about shapes and proofs and logic and confusing stuff. You better have actually learned stuff in Algebra I.

Yay, more Algebra! Don't you just love numbers? Complex numbers, exponential functions, logarithms galore! More fun with the graphing calculator
Prerequisites:
Be a 4th or 5th year
Algebra II { Advanced }
You really like mathand torture don't you? More fun and games with the graphing calculator. Learn how to play Pokemon on your graphing calculator and not get caught.
Prerequisites:
Be a 3rd year.
Math Analysis
This course is to prepare you for Calculus, if you are going that path, that is. You will use your skills earned from Geometry, Algebra I, and Algebra II. You will analyze many functions. There is an Honours course for this class. You may enter that class in the same way that you entered a previous Honours course. You will have to take placement tests and get background checks done by the Covert Squad.
Prerequisites:
Pass Algebra II with a C- or better. To get into the Honours class, you will have to pass a placement test at the beginning of the year.
Calculus AB
Topics to be studied include limits, differentiation and integration of polynomial, trigonometric, logarithmic, exponential and other functions, and their applications to area, volume, arc length and optimization problems. To reach this course, you need to have gone through the Honours classes. And so, background checks and placement exams must be taken.
Prerequisites:
C- or better in Math Analysis. B is recommended.
Calculus BC
A continuation of Calculus AB. Methods of integration, applications of the integral, convergence/divergence of series and sequences, Taylor and Maclaurin series, derivatives of functions in polar and parametric form, vector calculus and elementary differential equations are studied. If you get to this course, you definitely went through all the Honours classes. Of course, even if we know you well, we're still putting you through placement exams and background checks. You will be eligible to be our top Valedictorian if you end up here.

C- or better in Calculus AB. B is recommended.
Foreign Language Department
Background checks will be done, so if you try signing up for your native language, oh boy how dead you will be~

Students will develop basic survival skills through the study of grammatical structures, usage forms, and vocabulary necessary for elementary communication. If you hail from France, Belgium, Seychelles, Switzerland, or Monaco, you will be denied access to this class.

Learn the Spanish language. All language skills - listening, speaking, reading, and writing - are developed simultaneously. Students will develop basic survival skills through the study of grammatical structures, usage forms, and vocabulary necessary for elementary communication. If you hail from Spain, most countries in South America, and probably Texas, you will be denied access to this class.
